Duane Whitaker came to Hollywood from Lubbock, Texas, in the early 1980s to pursue an acting career. He began writing and directing plays as well as working in film and television. Four of his plays have been produced in Los Angeles, including "Eddie Presley", which was adapted and became his first produced screenplay (Eddie Presley). He also wrote the screenplay for Stripteaser, which was released on video in 1995.
