Since filming Lovelace, Amanda Seyfried became so fascinated with the 70s that she wishes she was born in that era. The actress is convinced she would have fitted right in. ”Going back to the seventies in general was exciting for me. Part of me wishes I was born in the sixties and seventies so that I could really experience it,” she said.
Lovelace is the story of famous adult movie star Linda Lovelace’s life. The biopic covers her life from the moment she was forced into adult movie industry by her abusive husband to becoming an anti-adult movie activist. There are some heavy scenes in the movie showing violence and abuse Linda suffered from her husband Chuck Traynor, but despite that Amanda says the movie has a positive message.
She said: ”Oh absolutely as sad as her story is she definitely gave meaning to her life in the end she was trying to validate her existence. I think her message is why we wanted to tell the story from her point of view. So it is liberating for me to play somebody who found peace within her trauma and was able to speak out against the violence. She did have an important voice towards the end of course.”
