Billy Crystal returns to TV


30 years after he last appeared in a series on TV Billy Crystal is returning to the small screen.

New series, The Comedians, will air on the cable channel FX, the network announced Wednesday.

The 66-year-old actor will play a veteran star of comedy, who is paired with a newcomer, portrayed by Josh Gad. The show is set behind the scenes at a late-night sketch comedy show.

The first season of 13 episodes will start airing next year.

Fox TV’s Nick Grad said: “We’re incredibly excited about The Comedians and the fact that Billy Crystal will be making his return to series television on FX.”

    It is great that the comedian veteran is getting back on TV. Despite his age this man is full of energy, humor and has so much to offer to the viewers. I have been looking forward to him backup on TV for many years. Finally my prayers have been heard and I canto help waiting for the new show to start! I am very excited and at last great jokes and sharp sense of humor would be back to the screens.
