In an interview with the TODAY show, Brad Pitt said he would only let his eldest son, Maddox, watch his new movie 12 Years a Slave. The actor doesn’t want his younger children to watch the film before they are old enough to understand it.
”Maybe my eldest I would, right now. I’d rather for the others to get a little bit older and understand the dynamics of the world a little more,” he said.
The movie tells the true story of Solomon Northup, who is abducted and sold into slavery in New York. Pitt plays a man who works on the plantation where Solomon is sent.
I agree. There are varying levels of maturity. My parents discussed substantial issues and current events, so I don’t think that they would have had a problem letting their kids see this at 12.
