She might be worth millions, but Cameron Diaz has sensible spending habits. She was raised in a family that was struggling financially and that taught her the importance of money.
In an interview with Stella magazine, the actress said: “I come from a frugal upbringing so I’m not just going to throw my money away. I love to be close to my family and friends, so I spend money on plane tickets, having feasts, buying a ton of groceries and cooking, or going out for an amazing meal, knowing I don’t worry about how much the bill costs.”
Cameron grew up in Long Beach, California with her sister and her parents, and things weren’t always easy for the family. Since money was tight, they had to work hard and learn to live with what they had but, despite the constant financial problems, The Other Woman star insists her childhood was a very happy one.
She said: “I had amazing parents, they were awesome. We weren’t privileged – very much the opposite. My family would collect soda cans to turn in for extra money, because $20 meant something to us. But we were very happy.”
Cameron Diaz has great upbringing and definitely knows the value of money. It is better to spend your money to have great time with your close and dear ones, rather then buying another lavish dress, or bag or some fancy gadgets.
