According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carey Mulligan might be the one to play former United States First Lady and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in an upcoming biopic Rodham. The film will mostly focus on Hillary’s early years when she was working as a lawyer in Washington in 1974 before she married Bill Clinton.
The new James Ponsdolt’s movie is getting a lot of attention these days despite the fact the filming hasn’t started yet. One of the most discussed issues lately is the choice of the actress who will play the former US First Lady and senator. Several actresses were suggested for the role. Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson are among those who are interested in the part but it seems that Carey is very close to sealing the deal. Reportedly she is scheduled to start negotiations with the director.
Previously James Ponstoldt said: ”They’re all wonderful actresses. We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position. Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive. I want a wonderful actress who could embody that.”
