The decision to get tattooed is important, and should not be taken lightly. You should think long and hard about a design that you’ll be happy with for years to come, as tattoos are meant to be permanent. However, some people regret their choice eventually and, luckily for them, today’s advanced technologies allow them to have their tattoo removed. Here are some celebs that got rid of bad ink.
The rapper decided to begin the laser removal process when he chose to pursue acting in 2010. “It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in makeup covering them up,” 50 Cent said about his decision.
Angelina Jolie is one of the most infamous in her bad tattoo selection. She paid tribute to her former husband, Billy Bob Thorton, whom she was married to from 2000 to 2003. When the romance was over, Angie had Billy’s name removed and decided to cover the stretch of skin with the birthplace coordinates of each of her children.
During her relationship with Rob Kardashian, she decided that getting a tattoo on her booty was a fine way to show her love and commitment. However, like most Hollywood relationships, this one went downhill, and she was left with all sorts of regret. She has since had the tattoo removed. “Ten letter last name. Kardashian. It’s pretty bad, yeah. Now that is a ratchet tattoo. I made a very bad decision. Don’t follow my example,” Adrienne said on her talk show.
Eva Longoria and her relationship with Tony Parker seemed to be picture perfect at first. However, the couple hit a lot of turbulence and eventually their marriage ended in divorce. During their relationship, Eva had he ex-husband’s basketball number tattooed on the back of her neck. She had the tattoo removed back in October 2012.
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards both inked each other’s names on their skin (he had her name on his wrist, she had his on her ankle). After their acrimonious divorce, Charlie had his tattoo removed and Denise covered hers up with the image of a fairy.
Kathy Griffin got a ring tattoo on her left hand when she was married to Matt Moline from 2002 to 2006. She only recently had it lasered off. “I have one tattoo on my whole body like an ***hole and it’s a f***ing wedding ring and I’m divorced,” the comedian said.
Back when he was Marky Mark, Mark Wahlberg acquired a funky bunch of tattoos, including a portrait of Bob Marley and a rendering of Sylvester the Cat. He has undergone over 30 sessions to have his various tattoos removed.
Throughout her lifetime, Kelly Osbourne had as many as 15 tattoos on her body. However, back in 2010, she decided that some of her tattoos were forms of self-harm and many of them had no real meaning to her. After having her tattoos covered up for a movie role, she realized that she didn’t need them one bit, which furthered her decision to get rid of them. She said: “I was miserable and I just went and got all these tattoos and I don’t know why. One of them is a keyboard and I don’t even know how to play a piano!”
Back in 2011, Megan Fox decided to get rid of her Marilyn Monroe tattoo that once graced her forearm. “It is a negative character, as she suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life,” Fox said.
While he was in love with Winona Ryder, Johnny optimistically tattooed “Winona Forever” on his shoulder. Eventually, they broke up and Depp had the “na” removed so the tattoo reads “Wino Forever.”
I don’t get why people need these tattoos? It is a very important decision in one’s life truly as you never know how your tastes and life outlook will change. We are given a normal skin with no pictures, why then do anything like that. Is it beautiful? Nope, I do not think it is! I can’t understand the ugly tattoos of Angie – such a fragile and beautiful woman with such ugly ‘coverage’ on her beautiful skin. I just don’t get it! Maybe it is just me?!
