It’s quite common for a celebrity to marry another celebrity. It happens all the time and for obvious reasons – they have similar lifestyles, understand each other’s jobs and so on. However, sometimes famous people fall in love with “normal” people, they get married and it often turns out to be a good decision since these marriages last longer. Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross was made the first move on now-husband Tom Mahoney. The actress spotted Mahoney, a stockbroker, at an L.A. flower shop in 2004 and left her number with the store owner. Two years later, the couple got married. “I think that beauty comes from being happy and connected to the people we love, and his love makes me feel beautiful,” Marcia said of her husband.

Matt Damon








Matt Damon was on location in Miami in 2003 to film the movie Stuck On You. While visiting a local bar one night, Damon would meet the love of his life, Luciana Barroso, who was a bartender. Damon made his move on the single mother of one. Two years later they were married. Now the couple has four daughters. In an interview with The Guardian, Damon said “My wife is my soul mate. I can’t imagine being without her.” And during an appearance on Ellen, Damon also said, “I hit the jackpot with my wife.”

While still married to husband and professor Danny Mozes, the love and the City actress met Christine Marinoni at an education rally back in 2002. After her divorce, Nixon reconnected with Marinoni, an education activist, a few years later. Both remain active in politics and activism. The happy couple welcomed their first child together in 2011. Nixon has two other children with Mozes.

He also said that if he had met her earlier, he would have “done it a long time ago.”

Jeff Bridges met Susan Geston while she was working as a waitress/maid on the set of his film Rancho Deluxe. “It took me all day to finally get up the nerve to ask her out. And she said no,” the actor said. Obviously, the relationship ended up working out and the couple has been together for 36 years.

While working on the 2001 film The Mexican, Julia Roberts met and fell in love with cameraman Danny Moder. Only problem was he was married and she was seeing actor Benjamin Bratt. Nevertheless, the two got married in 2002 after Moder’s divorce was finalized. They now have three children together. During the premiere of the movie Mirror, Mirror, Roberts told reporters that the reason she looks so youthful is her husband. “It’s just happiness and the love of a good man,” Roberts said. “I think that keeps you. I’ve got my Prince Charming, I’m good.”

Meryl Streep met her husband Don Gummer through her brother Harry, who was friends with Gummer. Gummer was out of the country and Streep was staying at his apartment until he came back into town. Apparently, Gummer came back early and the two quickly fell in love. They have been married for more than 34 years and have four children together. When Streep won her third Oscar for The Iron Lady, she gushed about Gummer during her acceptance speech. “Everything I value most in our lives, you’ve given me.”

Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, met his wife Jillian Fink when he scheduled an appointment at her salon with her. Apparently the hair stylist didn’t believe it was the real Dempsey until he walked in the door. The two were immediately attracted to each other, Dempsey says, but they waited three years before going on a date because they were both in other relationships.

Tobey was on the set of the 2003 movie Seabiscuit when he met Universal Studio head Ronald Meyer’s daughter. Throwing all caution, and potentially his career, to the wind, Maguire asked Jennifer out. Maguire and Jennifer, a jewelry designer, dated for four years before tying the knot. They now have two children together.

    Well to love all ages and all people are submissive. I have no wonders why such marriage last longer. Since these marriages happen for love and a true love choice. I am happy for the celebrities, who marry for love, not a social status of the person. They just listen to their hearts. Fairy tales exist in real life!
