We all know that Charlie Sheen’s real name is Carlos Irwin Estévez, but there are some other celebrities whose Latin origin is not widely known. Think you have these celebs all figured out? Check out our list of celebrities you didn’t know were Latino.

Alexis Bledel








The Gilmore Girls star may have been born in Texas, but her background is very diverse. Her grandfather was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and her father was born and raised in Argentina. Her mother, Nanette, was born in Arizona but grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. “It’s the only culture my mom knows from life, and my father as well, and they made the decision to raise their children within the context they had been raised in, so we speak Spanish in my parents’ house, and my mom cooks amazing Mexican food,” she said.

Sara Paxton








Sara Paxton is Scottish and Irish on her father’s side, but her mother Lucia was born In Monterrey, Mexico. Last year Paxton, who resides in L.A. turned 24 and got to spend her birthday in her mother’s homeland. The star was in Mexico filming the movie I Brake for Gringo.

Andrew Keegan








Actor Andrew Keegan, best known for his role as Joey Donner in 10 Things I Hate About You, may be the ultimate American 90s teen heartthrob, but Keegan actually has some Latino blood in him. His mother Lana is Colombian.

Jordana Brewster








The Fast and The Furious movie franchise star is Brazilian. “My mom is Brazilian and I lived in Brazil from the age of six to 10. I consider it a huge part of myself, because those were formative years growing up. And as a kid, it was funny, because when I came to New York at the age of 10,I always felt very Brazilian and then in Brazil, I always felt very American — so I always felt a little bit out of place,” stated Jordana.

Frankie Muniz








Actor Frankie Muniz, best known for his role In FOX’s hit series Malcolm in the Middle, was born in New Jersey to a Puerto Rican father and an Italian mother.

Raquel Welch








Actress Raquel Welch, stole all eyes when she appeared in a skin bikini in the 1966 British adventure film “One Million Years B.C.” She became the ultimate love symbol, but what a lot of people don’t know is Welch, born in Chicago, has Spanish and Latino blood in her. Her mother is English and her father is of Spanish-Bolivian descent.

Aubrey Plaza








Yes, comedian Aubrey Plaza is Latina! Plaza, who plays Amy Poehler’s assistant, April, in the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation is half Puerto Rican. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. “I have a huge family and tons of cousins in Puerto Rico. We actually hung out with them last summer, and it was awesome,” she said.

Odette Yustman








Odette Yustman appeared with Megan Fox in the action-thriller “Transformers”. But her big break came when she starred in the 2009 horror film “The Unborn”. The stunning actress was born in Los Angeles, California, to a Cuban mother and a Colombian father.

Noomi Rapace








Noomi Rapace is one of Hollywood’s hottest international stars. The Swedish beauty became a household name after her big breakthrough role as Lisbeth Salander in the film “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. What most people don’t know is the actress is also part-Spanish. Rapace was born in Sweden, to a Swedish mom, actress Nina Norén and a Spanish father, flamenco dancer Rogelio Durán.

Maiara Walsh








The actress is best known for her roles as the Indian character, Meena Paroom on the Disney Channel series, Cory in the House, and for her role on Desperate Housewives as Eva Longoria Parker’s Mexican niece, Ana. Aside from playing roles with such diverse ethnicities, Maiara Walsh is actually Brazilian.  She was born in Seattle, Washington to a Brazilian mother and lived in Brazil for most of her childhood.
