Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have an amazing $25 million art collection that includes work by Neo Rauch, Atelier Van Lieshout, and Banksy. They have joined a very small group of art fanatics who have managed to persuade Banksy to create their own commissioned piece. Over the years, the legendary graffiti artist has only accepted a handful of specific jobs from customers. In fact, it is famously difficult to get him to agree to such a contract. But the Hollywood couple now boast a giant mural by Banksy after Brad was able to get in touch with his agents during a trip to London. The huge mural now covers an entire wall at the French estate owned by Brad and Angelina and is kept in their own private art gallery.

Martin has been an avid art collector since 1968, when he bought a print by the Los Angeles artist Ed Ruscha. In the first public display of his collection, the Bellagio Museum of Fine Arts presented a five-month exhibit of 28 works by Roy Lichtenstein, Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Andy Warhol and Edward Hopper, among others, in 2001. “Collecting art is my biggest hobby,” Martin told Time magazine’s Richard Corliss during a 1987 interview. “I love them at least partly because this art is so different from what I do that it’s an escape for me. Paintings exist in space; show business exists in time. I like to sit down … and look at the paintings. Sometimes I feel so lucky to own them. It’s like, good grief, these things are so beautiful — how did this happen?”

Madonna has a $100 million-plus collection of art. Madonna was first introduced to the paintings of Diego Rivera when attending the Detroit Institute of Arts. Her interest in Rivera led her to discover the artworks of Frida Kahlo, who was married to Rivera. Two original Frida Kahlo paintings hang in Madonna’s California home. “I worship Frida Kahlo paintings because they reek of her sadness and her pain,” the singer said. She also owns originals paintings from Fernand Leger and Picasso. Salvador Dali, the most famous surrealistic artist, is another painter who has secured a place in a Madonna’s impressive art collection. She also likes Art Deco artists as well as Damien Hirst.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z work with art advisor Kim Hierston to build a collection including works by Ed Ruscha, David Hammons and Laurie Simmons. They also own a Picasso painting and a lot of Damien Hirst works.
