Glee star Chris Colfer, who plays gay teenager Kurt Hummel in the hit musical show, says he is ”blessed” to play such character because that way he can help young people who are struggling with their sexuality.

He said: ”I think I’m very blessed to be able to play that role on the show because I know it has helped a lot of kids around the world. He’s a character that means so much to people who relate to him and are inspired by him.”

The 23-year-old actor has been on the show for four seasons and he doesn’t plan to leave. ”I’m definitely the youngest cast member so I’m hoping to have more time ahead. We’ll see,” Chris said.

Although Colfer likes Glee, he admits he is embarrassed watching himself on the show. He said: ”Oh no, I hate watching myself. I get so embarrassed! I just think, ‘Oh, what was I doing?’ It’s for a pay check, right?”
