Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam confirmed for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

fifty shades of grey E.L. James, the author of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, announced the casting for the film adaptation. Dakota Johnson is confirmed to play Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey.

The author first tweeted news about Dakota, saying: “I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.” Then later she tweeted the Charlie Hunnam news, describing the actor as “gorgeous and talented.”

Dakota’s mom Melanie Griffith is very proud of her daughter. She tweeted: “My beautiful child Dakota has been chosen to play Anna Steele in 50 Shades. Look out world! Here she comes!!! #proudmama.” The highly controversial trilogy follows Anastasia Steele’s unusual sexual relationship with business tycoon Christian Grey.

Fifty Shades of Grey is set to be adapted into a series of films, the first to be released in August 2014.
