Daniel Radcliffe: I’m people’s confidant in pubs

daniel_radcliffe_625735 It is well-known that Daniel Radcliffe had a drinking problem few years ago. He gave up alcohol three years ago and has been clean ever since, but he often finds himself in a situation where drunken people open up to him and tell him some personal things.

The actor said: ” I’ve been people’s confidant in pubs. Somebody will be drunk and start telling you something about their relationship with their parents. You can end up provoking a huge range of reactions.”

Radcliffe became a worldwide famous actor at the age of 11 thanks to mega-successful Harry Potter franchise. However, he is still shocked when someone tells him that he had a huge impact on their childhood.

When people say ‘What’s it like to be associated with such a big franchise?’, I say, ‘It’s very easy when your franchise is something that is so loved. I feel like ‘child-star pr**k’ is the image many people have of actors who started young; that’s the stereotype you’re coming up against.”
