J.K. Rowling has just released a new story featuring an adult Harry Potter, causing excitement among the fans, but Daniel Radcliffe says he wouldn’t star in a movie remake of the new novel.
“My inclination is to say no. I don’t think it’s a question that’s even – not even hypothetical,” the actor said while appearing via satellite at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
“I haven’t read it yet, though I will. But my understanding is that it’s a very short piece, not of itself worthy of adaptation to film.”
In the 1,500 word piece, Harry and his friends are in their mid-30′s, and Daniel doesn’t think it would be suitable for him to play someone who’s much older than he is.
“He’s at least sorta 12 years older in it than I am now,” he said, “so I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that for a long time, I’m hoping.”
