Jeremy Irons has outraged many with his recent claims about gay marriage. In an interview he said that allowing same love marriage could make a loophole to avoid inheritance tax, saying: “Could a father not marry his son?” When reminded of the law against incest, the actor said: “It’s not incest between men because incest law is there to protect us from inbreeding, but men don’t breed.”
“I don’t have a strong feeling either way. Living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great. It’s lovely to have someone to love” he added.
All these comments have sparked anger among numerous gay rights activists who labeled Jeremy’s remarks “bizarre” and “completely gross”. Some Twitter users were disappointed as well. One of them wrote: “Jeremy Irons just made me sick to my stomach. Disgusting logic.” Stonewall organization’s spokesman said: “Sadly his comments do seem to indicate he’s taken his role as a Pope in The Borgias a little too seriously.”
