George Clooney’s rep: ‘Dicaprio comments have been taken out of context’

clooney-353-300x0 George Clooney covers the December issue of Esquire. In the interview with the magazine he was less-than complimentary when talking about Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio. But Clooney’s rep insists that comments about DiCaprio were taken out of the context.

George recalled playing a basketball game against Leo, and complained particularly about his friends. He says, “The thing about playing Leo is you have all these guys talking s**t. The discrepancy between their game and how they talked about their game made me think of how important it is to have someone in your life to tell you what’s what. I’m not sure if Leo has someone like that.”

However, Clooney’s representative explained that the comments were all about basketball.  “The Leo comments made by George were george-clooney-2013-baftaall made in fun about basketball. Not about Leo’s life… The writer and George were laughing about basketball buddies,” the publicist said.

As for Russell Crowe, Clooney says the feud began when Crowe called him a sell-out. He told Esquire that Crowe picked a fight with him and called him a sell-out. After that he sent Clooney a poetry book as a form of apology. Describing Crowe’s apology, George said: “I think he said, ‘I was misquoted’, and I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah. Whatever.’”

It is very sad when the publicity takes the words out of the context to make breaking and even scandalous news. They even do not think that this can make two people foes. I think George Clooney is a well-educated and intelligent man to say things mentioned in the article. I am happy this article explains the reality of things. Nevertheless, the more they talk about Clooney the more PR he gets. LOL. The dude is a prankster, but not a bad guy to me!

Take any saying out of the context and it can have a variety of meanings! This is what happens when ‘yellow paper’ publicist want to make breaking news. I am happy George found the right words to explain and give such a striking interview! I simply adore this actor!
