Glenn Close: People should openly talk about mental illnesses

Glenn Close

Speaking to New York Daily News, Glenn Close has addressed the issue of mental illness and said that people should stop treating the subject as a taboo and be able to openly talk about it.

Glenn’s sister has a bipolar disorder and the actress wants everyone to understand that mental illness is not something to be ashamed of.

”It is part of the human condition … Actually, because so many people are affected by it, it is something that should be a uniting, hope-filled issue rather than something that people have always been loathed to talk about, and afraid and shamed about it,” she said.
