The holidays are over and now we all need to focus on healthy diet. Gwyneth Paltrow and nutritionist Dr. Alejandro Junger have prepared a January detox menu for those who indulged over the festive period.
She wrote on her lifestyle website Goop: ”You know we love a good detox here at goop, and this January is no exception. We created detox recipes that won’t leave you feeling cold and hungry during the winter months, with guidance from Dr. Alejandro Junger, a specialist on the subject (check out his book ‘Clean Gut’ if you haven’t already – life-changer).”
”A winter detox allows us to harness our energy, hit reset on our food intake, and stay healthy and energized. We don’t need to wait for summer to feel and look our best.”
The 41-year-old actress also helped devise a suggested three day detox menu, which she says has ”looser guidelines and restrictions” to previous concoctions but still manages to avoid ”dairy, gluten, shellfish, anything processed (including all soy products), nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant), condiments, sugar, alcohol, caffeine and soda.”
The menu recommends starting each day with a glass of room temperature lemon water and an herbal tea.
Detox is very good for our bodies. I can feel the effect, now after winter festivities, I feel I need it. I am happy to have found this detoxication program. It is very simple to follow, so why not trying it for several days and then keep on eating healthy. The tie of overeating has passed and now we need to prepare for the romantic season of spring and beach swimming suit summer. We have plenty of time and why not starting it now to work on our body’s perfection step by step.
Thanks for the awesome detox tips. I will take advantage of them as the festivities are over; I am back to gym and need to feel better. I wish I could look like Gwyneth does. It takes a strong willpower to exercise and keep to diet like she does.
