Hugh Jackman’s research for ‘Prisoners’

hughjackma-bigxxx In order to prepare for his role in a new movie Prisoners, Hugh Jackman did some research as he studied real accounts of child abductions from desperate fathers. The actor, who plays a parent searching for his kidnapped daughter in the film, says he has learned some valuable lessons about fatherhood from his research and it gave him a real sense of what it would be like to lose a child.

“One father said… ‘The most maddening thing is knowing that your child is waiting for you and can’t understand why you’re not there to protect them, why you’re not there to rescue them’. They’re not waiting for the police to come, and the police, the whole time, are saying, ‘Just let us do our jobs, just relax,’ so you’re rendered powerless in this place where you just know that you kid wants you and is depending on you,” Jackman said.
