James Franco apologizes for flirting with teenage girl

It hasn’t been easy for James Franco these past couple of days. The actor has come under fire for flirting with a 17-year-old girl via Instagram and text on April 2.

Some thought it was just a hoax but Franco has publicly addressed the issue and apologized for the incident.

The 35-year-old star met Scottish student Lucy Corde outside a Broadway theatre where he is performing in Of Mice and Men. He later contacted the girl on Instagram and tried to arrange to meet her in her hotel.

Appearing on morning talk show Live With Kelly and Michael on Friday, Franco said: ”I’m embarrassed, and I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky. It’s the way that people meet each other today, but what I’ve learned — I guess because I’m new to it — is you don’t know who’s on the other end. You get a feel for them, you don’t know who you’re talking to. I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson.”

The actor also added: ”Unfortunately in my position, not only do I have to go through the embarrassing rituals of meeting someone, but if I do that, then it gets published for the world so it’s doubly embarrassing.”

It’s pretty clear that Franco’s celebrity status affects his ability to spit game over the internet. In that exchange, he asks three questions in a row in the span of less than a minute. Then he does it again.
You never ask repeated questions without a response. Looks creepy and desperate. Come on, Franco!

I understand she’s at the age of consent, and nothing he did/tried to do was illegal, but there are easier ways to get laid when you’re a 35 year old celebrity, than to try to hook up with a teenage girl who still lives with her parents. There’s a lot of messiness involved with that.

Awe I feel so sorry for James Franco, and for the fact he is supposed to go through all this stuff. Now the entire world is meeting each other through the social networking, it is much easier, well in the case of ordinary people it is much easier, as while you are typing and not talking in person, it is much easier to express your feelings and to reveal yourself the way you are. While when talking in real life you get the not needed emotions and shyness, that make you look a bit funny in the eyes of the person you are first meeting, while you think that you look like a dork, and you are damn sure that the person you met doesn’t want to have anything to do with you anymore (which is wrong in the majority of cases) and that is the moment when you stop calling. Well it is not that nice, but from the other side that is the reality of life right now. I can only imagine how stressed James is, as it is difficult for a simple person to start something, and it is even harder for a star.

Awe wow, I never thought that stars have same problems as regular people, and of course I feel sorry for James Franco, but from the other side what the hell he was thinking about while trying to get in touch with a seventeen years old girl? I mean in every kind of social networking it is clearly written the name and the age, so I am sure he knew how old the girl is. So the fact that he knew but still went for it is clearly showing to me that he knew what might happen in the case of this or that. So what can I say, it was really a stupid thing from him to even start this kind of communication. Sometimes men are just not able to think, or they are thinking with the wrong part of their body.

I always thought that being a movie star means getting everything you want with a simple clap of your fingers, and now I understand how wrong I was to think something like that. Rich and famous people also have same problems as the simple people, and it is a shame. Everyone in this life deserves happiness, and I think that all people are supposed to do everything they can in order to be happy. I never give up, and neither should do James Franco, well maybe it didn’t work out the first time that he tried, but it is not a problem, he should try more, and eventually one day he will succeed and be able to feel proud for the things he achieved.
