Late Sopranos star James Gandolfini will receive a tribute at the Emmy Awards this weekend. Gandolfini, who died of a heart attack in June this year, will be honored on Sunday during an In Memoriam segment.
Producers have selected five people who recently passed away to be recognized during the ceremony, including producer Gary David Goldberg, Glee star Cory Monteith, actress Jean Stapleton and actor Jonathan Winters. Close friends and co-workers will be asked to make short speeches.
Ken Ehrlich, the Emmys’ executive producer, said: ”Having their close friends share personal remembrances is something that will be very meaningful for television audiences across the country and across the generations”.
