Jared Leto: Weight loss takes its toll

jared-leto-2014-sbiff-virtuosos-awards_4052568 Speaking to Attitude magazine, Jared Leto said he would never lose weight for a role again.

The actor had to go on an extreme diet in order to shed pounds for his latest role in Dallas Buyers Club where he plays a transvestite who is addicted to drugs and dying of AIDS, but he doesn’t want to do it ever again.

He said: ”It does take its toll and it’s not something I will ever do again. It’s a really hard thing to do to your body. When you do it over a short period of time it’s incredibly brutal.”

Jared’s dramatic transformation has earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Even though he won’t do it again, he believes that such an extreme weight loss was absolutely necessary for his role and doesn’t regret it.

jared-leto-the-20th-annual-screen-actors_4031593”This time, I was playing someone who was not only addicted to drugs but also dying. When you lose weight it’s not only about how you look, it’s how it affects you as a person, and your performance , and it changes so much about how you are. The fragility that all provides was essential to the part,” Leto added.

Congratulations to Jared Leto and his not only body, but personality transformation. The roles required it and he coped after a long break of six years that has contributed much to his acting. He has done a brilliant job and a hard labor of losing his weight so drastically in such a short time frame. I can understand what stress for the body it was and I do not recommend him to come through this again, such drastic change sin weight and stress connected to it can cause many disorders and some diseases including diabetes.
