Jason Statham calls for stunt Oscar

jason-statham Action movie star Jason Statham is urging Academy Awards bosses to create a new category honoring stunt performers.

The British actor believes these highly-trained people deserve more recognition for their hard work.

He tells Vanity Fair magazine, “I think it is an overlooked category, considering how much responsibility these coordinators have for some of the greatest entertainment in action movies. I mean, all of the stunt men – these are the unsung heroes. They really are. Nobody is giving them any credibility. They’re risking their necks. It’s a total injustice. They’re the ones getting busy.

“Then you have some guy standing in front of a f**king green screen screwing his face up pretending like he’s doing the stunt. To me, it’s like a farce. I have a real frustration with that because I know these co-ordinators. I train with them all the time and they are incredibly talented.”

Absolutely agree! Stunt Oscar is what missing in cinematography awards! I also think it is a farce and the job of people doing the hard tricks and risking their necks should be known and rewarded. Who else supports Jason’s idea thumbs up and let’s do it together!!
