Jennifer Garner: My first marriage didn’t stand a chance

jennifer-garner-ben-affleck-pgas-carpet-11 In an interview with Allure magazine, Jennifer Garner opened up about her first marriage. The actress admits that her union with Scott Foley never had a chance at succeeding.

She said: ”Oh, he’s a great guy. We were full-on grown-ups, but looking back I’m aware we did not know what hit us. We didn’t have a shot. He’s a really good guy, and we just imploded.”

Jennifer and Scott tied the knot in 2000, but they split three years later and finalized the divorce in 2004, just months before she started dating her current husband Ben Affleck, with whom she has three kids.

I wish I’d known to wait for marriage until I was 30 or over. I did marry in my twenties and I found divorce a crushing experience. I thought the divorce statistics would never apply to me. I was beyond heartbroken when they did. But I got up and got on with it. I also kept my belief in marriage. I did not have a fairytale vision of the future of the future but I still believed I would find someone to commit to and raise kids with,” Garner said.
