On January 14, Amber Heard was spotted leaving an LA restaurant and wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, which sparked the rumors that she and Johnny Depp are engaged.
Even though the two haven’t confirmed the news yet, People magazine reports that the stars are set to tie the knot in the near future.
A source, close to the couple, said: “Of course they couldn’t be happier to be engaged and excited to share the rest of their lives together. Amber has really taken well to the kids and really enjoys spending time with them. And she’s even taken Lily shopping on her own for some bonding time.”
It looks like the proposal happened on Christmas Eve. Another insider has revealed: “The proposal happened a while ago. She just didn’t wear the ring. It happened on Christmas Eve. Amber really took her time to make up her mind. She turned him down before … before she said yes. So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time.”
Johnny and Amber first met during filming the 2011 drama The Rum Diary, but didn’t start dating until after the breakdown of Depp’s 14 year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, in the summer of 2012.
What a beautiful couple! What a romantic story of acquaintance! Like in the movie itself! I would be happy to see these two people married. I hope the ring Amber wears now is engagement ring and that the wedding will take place soon. I am always for happy marriages and these two look happy together. Let’s hope this lasts long!
Wow this is the first time I hear that Johnny has break up with Vanessa Paradis, I thought those two will stay together till the rest of their lives, they had such a strong and happy marriage, but it seems that not everything happens the way we expect. I feel sorry for them, as they were a strong family which was showing example to everyone. But that is life and there cannot be done anything to change that is prescript by fate. I hope that now he has found his real soul mate, and this time his marriage will last till the last days of his life. I am wondering what happened with Vanessa, and how did she survived their break up, I am sure that for her it was much more difficult, as due to her family and total devotion to Johnny she almost left her carrier, so a comeback for her would be quite difficult, too many years have passed since than.
Wow, I am so happy for them! I guess Johnny has done the right choice, Amber seems to be a very positive and good girl, I never really liked Vanessa as she seemed to not have a life of her own, she was always like an addition to Johnny, but not like a different person near him. So no wonder that at some point she stopped being interesting to him, and he started to look for someone else by his side in order to create a family with. And the fact that Amber didn’t started any relationship with him till the moment when they stopped being a family with Vanessa is also speaking good of her, as she was not starting a relationship upon someone else’s family. She started everything from a clean sheet.
Well done Johnny! If I were at your place and I would have to choose between the sad and tragically looking Vanessa and young and vivid beautiful Amber, than I would certainly choose Amber as well. I understand that Vanessa has an image of her own that she was creating for many years, but doesn’t she understand at all that this image is not that interesting as it might have been a long time ago, and that there is about time to change everything and started living a different type of life? no wonder Johnny got bored of her, as beside being at home and not evolving at all she was probably not doing anything more.
