Johnny Depp has admitted to tax evasion

Johnny Depp always looked like a man who absolutely does not care about worldly things: laws, regulations, and public opinion – is not for him. But in fact, Depp is much more pragmatic than it seems, especially in regard to taxes. The actor admitted that he always carefully calculates how many days he can spend in his second home in France to avoid paying taxes. By law, it must share revenues with the French government only if he spends more than 183 days a year, or about 6 months in the country. Thus, an actor completely legally evades taxes. “I’ve lived in two houses: in France and in America, – says 48-year-old actor. – The French government wanted me to become a resident of the country because of taxes. But the status of a citizen of France would have changed a lot in my life and in my career. I’m not ready to give up U.S. citizenship”. Meanwhile, Johnny Depp has admitted that his house in France, he likes a lot more than Hollywood, because only there can truly relax. “We have a wonderful property in the south of France. It is small area just 45 acres (approximately 18 ha) – and I have absolutely nothing to do there”. So Johnny Depp has two homes in sunny France and in Hollywood, where he spent much time of his life.
