Justin Timberlake explains why he left N’ Sync

When Justin Timberlake announced his decision to leave N’ Sync, most people thought it was a big mistake. It turned out they were wrong and today Justin is an established solo artist and actor with millions of fans around the world.

Appearing on Oprah’s Master Class, he spoke about the time when he decided to go solo and explained his reasons.

“I would wake up every morning feeling this more and more of an urge to step out on my own and try my own hand as a musician just by myself,” Timberlake said.

However, his decision to leave the highly popular boy band at the time wasn’t something people around him believed in and he received a lot of criticism.

“It was happening all around me: ‘Why wouldn’t you ride this out? You’re the biggest group in the world. Why would you walk away from this?'” he explained.

But Justin took the risk even though it was one of the toughest decisions he has ever made.

“It’s one of the best/worst things that I have ever done,” he said. “It was bittersweet. It was hard to say goodbye to that era, but I felt it changing. I felt music changing. And I felt myself changing.”

    Ha. What a load.

His agent/manager, like the rest of them, went to the label and tested him against the public. He was simply more marketable and would produce more profits on his own. They made a contract like they typically do. Bargained back and forth…and voila his first contract. Do people actually think an artist would go out on their own without market research? Not a chance.
