Speaking about her failed marriage to Russell Brand, Katy Perry has revealed to Chelsea Handler, for the July issue of Cosmopolitan, that it now seems like it is something that happened a long time ago.
The singer admits she went through a rough time and needed therapy to overcome the pain, but the experience helped her mature and realize what she really wanted.
She explained: “It feels like a hundred lifetimes ago, so it’s like digging up an old grave.
“A lot of therapy has happened and a lot of understanding and growth… Sometimes you have to go through all this s**t to get your grips on life and figure out what the next boundaries in your love life are going to be. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place. In the long run, it was necessary for me to have more of a teammate.”
I think it was pretty predictable the fact that Katy Perry will eventually break up her marriage with Russell Brand, because those two were never perfect for each other, there was passion and feelings, but mostly from Katy’s side, while Russell, didn’t really put too much soul and heart into that relation, he aas like a energetic vampire feeding by Katy’s powers and emotions! I feel really sorry for the fact that their family collapsed,as when a new family is being born, than eventually i wish them only the bestest, and do wish their marriage to last until one of them will die. Well life can be very dissapointing sometimes, and the sad thing is that everything could be saved, but no one really tried.
I think Russell just could not deal with the fact that Katy is much more popular than he is, and she always was. There is a category of weak man who always live in the shadow of their famous wives, and live on their expense but for some reason they keep complaining about it, which is very irritating, as every woman dreams to have a strong shoulder by her side, so eventually than she realizes that she cannot rely on her soul mate’s shoulder she closes herself to all kind of feelings. What can be possibly worse than that?! I guess not much. I am a strong woman and i am used to depend on myself only, and honestly speaking that sucks, as i dream
about a strong man who would surround me and tell me, don’t worry dear i have everything under control.
As far as i know the real reason why Katy decided to divorce with Russell was the fact that he wanted to have children and she was not ready to it. Well i can perfectly understand him, as it is a completely normal thing to desire having children after marrying the woman of your life, and in this case Katy had the option to choose or a happily ever after with a child, or living on her own but with a succesful carrier. The fact that she chosen the carrier clearly shoes that she is either nor prepared to become a mother while being with this specific man, or that she is simply not a family type of woman. I think that it is the first option, as if she would really loved Brand she would never let him go from her life!
