Liam Neeson opens up about drinking problem

After the death of his wife Natasha Richardson in 2009, Liam Neeson started drinking to ease his pain. The actor admits that he used to drink three bottles of wine a night and, a year ago, when he realized it went too far, he decided to quit.

β€œI gave up drinking about a year ago… I was drinking too much,” Neeson told GQ magazine.

β€œIt started since my wife died. Never at work, never would do it like that, but this time of night?… I’d be on my second bottle. Before we finished, I would have been halfway down a third – and be totally fine! Pinot Noir: That’s all I drink. I was never into spirits or liquor, hard liquor.”

My daughter had a traumatic brain injury in Las Vegas, the same day his wife did. I remember reading about it in the trauma center and thinking that she is going to be okay and so is my daughter and then 2 days later Natasha died and I have never been so scared in my life, but by some miracle my daughter made it through. I cried for a person that I didnt even know, so sorry Liam.
