Lucy Liu: Acting was alien to my family

lucy-liu-late-show-with-david-letterman_3900197 Speaking to the Metro, Lucy Liu said that her acting career was ”alien” to her family.

Lucy’s parents, who are deeply influenced by their Chinese heritage, always thought she would go to university and get a reputable job.

”We rarely went to the movies. We did watch television but becoming an actor wasn’t something that was even in the stratosphere as a career idea. What came after high school was college; what came after college was a job. Acting was never a job that was ever considered. It was completely out of the ballpark, completely alien to my family. And, I think, to a certain extent it still is,” she said.

An interesting article once again helped me to realize there is a fate and that every person has their way to go. We all have things that we enjoy doing and that we do our best. I am sure that Lucy Liu has found her cup of tea and she does what she does just great. I hope her family supports her in her acting career, even though they are alien to it.
