A Texas-based theater chain has punished Madonna for being rude. She reportedly wouldn’t stop texting at the premiere of 12 Years a Slave and because of that is no longer welcome at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas.
Alamo founder and CEO Tim League tweeted: ”Until she apologizes to movie fans, Madonna is banned from watching movies @drafthouse.”
According to eyewitnesses, Madonna was texting throughout the first half of the movie. At some point, a woman tapped her on the shoulder and told her to put her phone away, but pop star allegedly said: ”It’s for business… enslaver.”
The Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse is known for its strict talking and texting policies in its theatres. Asked by EW if he was serious about the ban, League replied late Saturday, ”Yeah, I’m serious, but I don’t think it really affects her life that much.” Madonna has yet to respond.
Madonna is still a rebel at 55, that’s still offending people. She upset theater goers, the CEO of the Drafthouse and people on the internet that get indignant about every trivial thing celebrities do that they find objectionable.
