Since he plays a drug addict, his role in The Gambler required Mark Wahlberg to lose weight, but after the experience the actor has vowed never to anything like that again.

He shed 61 pounds thanks to a liquid diet and the significant change in lifestyle left Mark completely miserable.

He said: “I basically didn’t eat anything. I was miserable for four months, but then I had to put it all back on because I had to do additional shooting for Transformers, and when Michael Bay (director)  saw me, he was like, ‘Dude, are you smoking crack? What’s wrong with you…?’

“I was miserable, absolutely miserable. Nobody wanted to be around me and I don’t ever want to do it again.”
