Matthew Knowles claims that his daughter Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z are intentionally circulating divorce rumors to ”ignite” ticket sales for their joint tour.
Speaking on the Roula & Ryan show on a Houston radio station, Matthew said: ”I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on. So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.”
Beyoncé’s dad also says that the footage of the elevator incident, where his other daughter Solange Knowles attacked Jay-Z, was also leaked to boost ticket and album sales.
”All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 per cent,” he said.
Matthew, who isn’t Beyoncé’s manager anymore, claims that, despite that, they are still close.
”We still talk every Sunday. She’s still the humble, generous person that she’s always been.”
