After the announcement earlier this week that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are taking a break from their marriage, some new details have surfaced. It seems that all the problems (Michael’s throat cancer and Catherine’s bipolar disorder) they dealt with over the years have taken their toll on the marriage.
According to an insider, Michael loves Catherine but she has some issues. The source close to Michael told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ”It’s very stressful. He loves her but she has her own issues.”
Other sources claim that the main problem in their marriage is the disagreement over the lifestyle. Reportedly, Michael loves to party and prefers city life while Catherine enjoys countryside and staying at home.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ”They have grown apart — but not in the way you’d expect, given the age gap. Michael loves the buzz of the city. He enjoys socializing and the finer things in life and has lots of showbiz mates. Catherine likes the countryside where she can ride horses, play golf and live a very quiet existence. He only moved to the countryside for her but in the end their health problems over the past few years took their toll and he had to escape.”
