Michael Douglas made his first public appearance since news of his marriage split from Catherine Zeta-Jones hit headlines. On Friday (August 30) he joined Steven Soderbergh to open the 39^th annual Deauville American Film Festival with a screening of their new movie Behind the Candelabra.

Everybody noticed that Douglas was wearing his wedding ring. After greeting the crowd in French, Douglas admitted he is feeling good. He said, “People have been kindly asking how I’m doing. Well, I put on a suit tonight – one that I can’t come close to buttoning – so everything must be Ok.”
