Most expensive celebrity birthday parties

When the rich and famous throw a birthday, they spare no expense. With glamorous venues and world class entertainment, these bashes can be quite pricey. Here are some of the most expensive celebrity birthday celebrations.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan knows how to party, and party she did at the cost of $100,000 for her 20th birthday. She ushered in her birthday at a private beach house in Malibu with a dinner party prepared by celebrity chef Kerry Simon. She was joined by closest friends such as Nicole Richie, Kate Bosworth, Courtney Love and Owen Wilson, to name a few.

Paris Hilton

Heiress, socialite, model and It-girl Paris Hilton had an impressive birthday party that went on for days over different major cities in the world. Her parties were held in Tokyo, London, New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Hilton reportedly spent $75,000 per guest for the several-day extravaganza. For her New York City party leg, it was held in the Studio 54 clubroom with food prepared by Le Cirque’s Sirio Maccioni. Her birthday cake had 21 tiers and cost over $3,000. In attendance were the entire Hilton family, Donald Trump, P. Diddy, Kris Jenner, Samantha Cole, and Faye Resnick, among others.

Hugh Hefner

In April 2012 Hugh Hefner put on a white tuxedo when the infamous Playboy Mansion hosted its 20th annual Casablanca Night. In honor of Playboy’s endearing founder’s 86th birthday, it was surely a party to remember. He was presented with a cake which featured his face atop the body of Humphrey Bogart on an iconic 1942 Casablanca movie poster. With a guest list which included every living model who has ever adorned the centerfold for Playboy Magazine, it certainly was a party full of beauty.

Oprah Winfrey

America’s queen of talk show, Oprah Winfrey, sure knows how to throw the best parties and she showed this when she celebrated her 50th birthday. The celebrations started with a special live taping of her show, and then proceeded to a women’s lunch at the Bel Air Hotel, and continued to her beachfront estate in Montecito, California where she had a party for some 200 guests. It was a star-studded event graced by the presence of special invited guests such as Tina Turner, who performed “Simply the Best”, Stevie Wonder, Kelly Preston, Maria Shriver, John Travolta, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, Carol Burnett, Dr. Phil, and Jay Leno, who brought a 400-pound cake decorated with thousands of flowers.

Leonardo DiCaprio

The Weinstein Company & Netflix 2014 Golden Globes After Party

It’s no secret that this gentleman is a party animal. For his 38th birthday, DiCaprio thought to do something special. This birthday included guests such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Jonah Hill, Cameron Diaz, and others at The Darby in New York City. On the menu was branzino with truffled crust, yellow sashimi, spinach truffle pizza, and steak fillet with truffles. A lovely side note — part of the proceeds from each bottle purchased by DiCaprio and his friends went to the Red Cross.  By the night’s end, more than $500,000 was donated to the organization, with additional money going to the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

Mariah Carey

For her 40th birthday party, the sultry singer only wanted a simple, intimate gathering with her closest friends. So, Mariah Carey, along with her husband, Nick Cannon, and 11 of their friends, flew out of New York to Barbados on a private jet. Yes, that was how she celebrated her simple and intimate birthday party.

Kim Kardashian

Party girl Kim Kardashian blew out the candles on a reported $1 million birthday cake for her 30th. The cake, decorated in loose diamonds, was organized as a surprise by New York nightclub Glo.

Sean Combs

When he’s not performing for thousands or producing award-winning records, P. Diddy is known for throwing outrageously lavish parties for his A-list friends. His annual “White Party” has been known to boast guest lists to match just about any red carpet, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that he spared no expense for his 40th birthday in 2009. Sponsored by Ciroc, the Hip-Hop mogul’s own brand of vodka, the party was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue in New York. It all cost a whopping $3 million. Among the guests were Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Kim Kardashian, Denzel Washington, Estelle, Nelly, Jimmy Fallon, Spike Lee, and even Martha Stewart.

They work hard, but play harder. Well, we need to admit the fact that if we had such a possibility to through birthday parties like this; we would have done this with great pleasure. Many here can comment on charities, helping poor and the rest but if celebrities earn so much, why not throwing a lavish party of their dreams. I do not support a wild partying life style, but birthday is once a year, so take it all of this day!

Well, celebrities really know how to throw parties and how to have fun. They earn enough, so why not spend much on their fun? My motto is to work hard, but pay harder. So, I am for this. Who would judge them? Well, only those, who are jealous. I am not a wild party animal myself, but if people like it, so why not? They can afford it, so let them have fun and keep your emotions private!
