Liza Minnelli married David Gest in 2002 in what was said to be the most expensive wedding of all time. Her Bob Mackey gown cost $45,000.

Tori Spelling wedded her first husband, Charlie Shanian in a lavish $1 million wedding in 2004 and she had worn a charming and sparkly full-length $50,000 gown by Badgley Mischka. The wedding gown is intricately hand-sewn with loads of beadwork. The couple divorced a year later.

In 2011, a royal wedding took place when Prince William married Kate Middleton. The bride wore a dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. The dress reportedly cost a staggering $400,000. It was made of satin and had an overlaid lace bodice and appliquéd skirt. Shapes of flowers, like roses, daffodils, shamrocks and thistles, were cut and placed in the ivory silk netting using needle lace method.
