Nicole Kidman: Oscar made me feel empty

nicole-kidman-hfpa In an interview with Australia’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Nicole Kidman said that she felt ”empty” after winning an Oscar.

Following her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001, the actress received the Best Actress prize for her role in 2002 movie The Hours, but she says it emphasized the problems in her personal life. As happy as she was to win such a prestigious award, Kidman admits she felt emptiness.

”Winning an Oscar can show you the emptiness of your own life, which is kind of what it showed me. I was having professional success and my personal life was struggling,” Nicole explained.

Yes, in this life we have to choose, either you are successful in family life or reach certain heights in career. It is a rare situating when you reach great heights in all the fields. Being successful in any field of life requires your time, energy, efforts and, being humane we cannot manage everything simultaneously. There are only 24 hours in a day, so we need to use this time wisely. I hope Nicole finds her soul mate and is happy.

Getting old and being single makes many of the strongest one feeling empty. No Oscar winning award can help. Success, money and power come and go but family is what should be treasured and these are who stay with you no matter what.
