Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig in a Broadway Show

daniel-craig-and-rachel-weisz-70th-annual_20059480 It is confirmed that Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig will star in Harold Pinter’s Betrayal on Broadway. A famous movie-maker  Mike Nichols will direct the play. This project will reunite Nichols with the producer Scott Rudin in this much anticipated play. The two of them initially worked together on Tony-winning drama Death of a Salesman, written by Arthur Miller. Considering the success of that play and the cast of the new one, a lot is expected from Betrayal.

This stage drama is Pinter’s semi-autobiographical piece that deals with love affair of wife of a successful publisher and his best friend. Weisz will play the unfaithful wife and Craig, her real-life husband, plays the publisher. It is very likely that Rafe Spall will join them as the publisher’s friend.alg-rachel-weisz-daniel-craig-jpg

The play shows the marital problems and relationships that lead to adultery using the technique of reverse chronology. What is very interesting is that Betrayal will mark the first time this real-life couple will perform together on the stage and they will be playing a married couple. Everybody is eager to see how they will portray the relationship and whether they have the right on-stage chemistry. The official opening is set for November 3 at the Ethel Barrymore Theater.
