Movie legend Robert De Niro is aware that he is not in his prime anymore but doesn’t complain about that.
The 70-year-old star is sure his time as a leading actor is over, but is happy to play supporting roles so he can keep working.
“That’s just life. We can’t play certain parts any more. We’re playing the father or the grandfather or the great-grandfather and that can be written in a funny way, so it’s fine. But you’re not carrying the movie as the young romantic lead – those days are gone,” De Niro told the Metro.
I respect De Niro for his sober look on his acting career and his possibilities on screen. I wished him to become a movie director if he wishes. I am sure he will make many great movies. I like him as a leading and a supportive actor. Everything in its time and here is where Robert is right! You just cannot be a young energetic romantic here when you are 70 years old. Still, looking at De Niro’s leading acting career, I can take he is a great star with an enormous success and charm.
Awee, that is probably very sad and difficult for him, as he is the one who played one of the main roles in the famous and well known to each generation movie “The God Father”, so playing the second roles, awe wow that probably is hard for the ego. But anyways I love all the movies where he is performing, the moment when I read who is performing in the movie I am planning to watch and see his name I already know for sure that the movie will be a great one. There are not that many actors who are that talented and whose filmography would be that big and respect worthy. By the way loved that new movie about big family and happy wedding there he performs with Susan Sarandon.
Well there is always a time for rise and for the fall, same is with carrier or everything that happens in our life. I think Robert should be very proud with all the achievements that he made in the cinema industry. I guess that is about time for him to leave the scene and start living his life for himself only, as even getting old is something that should be done with grace and splendor, especially in his case. I think if he will keep performing than he might simply ruin his full of majesty carrier and make himself look funny and old in the eyes of society. I admire his movies, and the impact he made upon the world of cinema, but also I think that it is better to leave while being still a long awaited guest, than staying for too long and becoming not interesting. That is my advice.
