Robert Redford did own stunts for ‘All Is Lost’

robert-redford-photocall-to-launch-the-2013_3625033 Working on J.C. Chandor’s new movie, All Is Lost, Robert Redford insisted on doing his own stunts.

He plays a sailor stranded at sea and the director’s initial plan was to have a body double for Redford, but the actor wanted to do it all by himself and ended up in bruises.

”They beat me up pretty badly. I met J.C. and told him, ‘What’s in this script is pretty rough and tumble’, and he said, ‘I don’t plan to have you do all that. I have stunt doubles.’ So I said, ‘I’d rather not have doubles if I can help it.’ My ego kicked in and I thought, ‘OK, maybe I can. Let’s see.’ Next thing you know, I was being washed overboard and underwater and bounced around. But that was a challenge: could I physically do it? It was difficult, painfully difficult sometimes. But it was worth it,” Redford said.

Robert Redford is a real man. He wanted to experience the hurdles of the stunts shots and he suffered with it, but anyways, it was rewarding. These are the words of a true man! I am happy he decided o make all the stunts by himself. It is cool when there are no doublers in the movie, though I have nothing against them too. I bet everyone has their job to do. I am happy Rob does this brilliantly. He is a very talented Hollywood actor!
