Robin Williams to be honored at Emmy Awards

Robin-Williams Producers of the Primetime Emmy Awards will honor Robin Williams during a special segment at the 66th Annual Emmy Awards.

The ceremony will take place on August 25 and it will feature a tribute to the late actor.

Executive producer Don Mischer said in a statement: ”Plans for the In Memoriam segment are in discussion. While we are all still coming to terms with this week’s tragic news, we are working to give Robin Williams the proper and meaningful remembrance he so well deserves.”

He also told TV Guide: “It’s about what can we do to properly remember Robin and create perhaps an emotional moment about him.”

williamsWilliams was found dead Monday in his home in Tiburon, California. The Marin County coroner confirmed that he had committed suicide by hanging himself.

Robin’s family members and close friends are planning a private funeral and a public memorial for the legendary comedian and Oscar-winning actor.

A source recently said: ”Everyone is obviously just stunned that Robin committed suicide . . . his family is holed up together and beginning to make plans for a very private funeral. There will most likely be a public memorial to celebrate his life that his fans can be a part of.”
