During her acceptance speech for the Actress of the Year award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday, Sandra Bullock said that the worst thing one can do is Google themselves.
She advised everybody not to read anonymous online comments.
She said: “I Googled myself and read the comments section, thinking I could get some titbits of what people really think of me. No human being should ever read the comments sections or ever Google one’s self at any time.”
“I learned a lot about myself. Some things I was very well aware of: ‘Sandra Bullock is over 40’ came up a lot. I know that. ‘Sandra Bullock’s way past 40’. Yeah, I know that, too… ‘There’s absolutely nothing special about her acting. She’s not particularly attractive, I can’t stand her, she’s mediocre. She’s over 40.’ I was reminded I made out with Meryl Streep. Off-screen, not necessarily her choice. I kind of took her by surprise… I sparked with Betty White and I’ve flown into space. I’ve had a pretty good life and a pretty good career.”
Speaking to Julia Roberts, who was in the audience, Sandra added: “Apparently Julia… You and I are in a dispute over George Clooney. We talked about this, right? It’s shared custody and we’re both fine with it.”
There are as many opinions as people in the world you can go crazy if you listen to everything people around you think or say about you. People are subjective creatures, who cannot judge others objectively and who they are to judge? If you need a construction criticism, just get critical to yourself or your producer in terms of your acting., the only real love and appreciation we need to strive to is of your close ones – our family. So, forget about Googling your name, Sandra. Many people simply envy you that is why say so many bead things on-line.
I agree with Sandra. Googling yourself is the biggest mistake a celebrity can make. Minds differ, people think differently and many of them simply are jealous to the success of prosperous people. So the bitter part comes out in their comments. Still they do not have much in common with the reality and definitely no comment can be objective – these are just subjective opinions. So, why waste one’s time on reading what others think or say about you. Just live your life!
Ha ha, Sandra always had a hilarious sense of humor, and I know for many years that if I am in a bad mood than I need my “emergency’ kit, which consists of a bunch of comedies with Sandra Bullock in the main role and a big pot of strawberry ice cream. By the way a few of my friends have borrowed my recipe of getting a good mood in the fastest possible way, and I should say that they all are very thankful to me. I don’t know Sandra is just one of those people whose eyes are already full of life and hidden laughter, with this kind of people around life is getting new colors and positive sense. As about the things she read about herself, well those are the words of mean people with unhappy life who are very envy with her for the fact that she was able to do much more in her life than they could. People were always mean to successful people, so there is no reason to be upset with them.
