Graduates of Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans had a special graduation ceremony thanks to Sandra Bullock who showed up to celebrate with them.

The actress has been a big supporter of the school, after it closed from 2005 to 2006 due to Hurricane Katrina damages.

Addressing the graduates, Bullock said: “You know at Warren Easton, you are loved and appreciated and supported for what you have to offer. I was trying to remember my graduation and, oddly, I couldn’t remember anything. I remembered how good I looked and then I went back and looked at pictures and I really didn’t look so good. I didn’t remember anything, because I was so worried about the future.

“Stop worrying so much. Raise the bar higher. Nothing is a failure it’s just not supposed to work out.”

Adding some funny words of advice, Sandra continued: “Eat something green every day. Do not pick your nose in public. How about we just go get a tissue? When someone who cares about you hugs you, hug them back. If someone doesn’t want to play with you, it’s okay. Not everybody is going to love us.

“And last but not least go find your joy. It’s what you’re going to remember in the end. It’s not the worry, it’s not the what-ifs. It’s the joy that stays with you,” she concluded.

She’s right the world is their oyster, go explore, they have all the opportunities now, so go for it and if you don’t get the job you wanted try something else, maybe it wasn’t meant to be because something better always comes along.

She is a great role model for young people. She is positive and having overcome the disappointment of her marriage and go on in such a positive direction is an awesome example for everyone. Also a terrific actress!

I love Sandra Bullock! But I find it interesting that someone who pretends to be other people for a living is now giving life advice because she’s rich and famous. Seriously, Americans’ values are just so messed-up these days. A politician who gave a commencement speech would not get as much press as Sandra’s. No offense to her at all.
