Sandra Oh leaving ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Sandra Oh After a lot of thinking, Sandra Oh has decided to quit Grey’s Anatomy following the completion of its upcoming 10th season. Sandra is the part of the original cast of the show and she has portrayed Dr. Cristina Yang. The actress admits that it wasn’t an easy decision to make since she is emotionally attached to her character but she believes that it’s time to move on.

She told The Hollywood Reporter, “Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go. It’s such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well. Yang wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go.

I started thinking about it because I had to prepare myself. I gave myself two years to emotionally let go. At the end of last season, Shonda (Rhimes, creator) took me aside and said, ‘What are your thoughts?’ I said, ‘I’m ready.'”
