Speaking to RadarOnline, Selena Gomez’s grandfather said that the singer suffers from lupus.
It was previously rumored that Selena was battling the auto-immune disease, and Ricardo Gomez has now confirmed it.
He said: ”She’s in treatment. She’s getting along pretty good.”
However, Ricardo is still worried about his granddaughter because she works too hard and is not taking good care of her health.
He explained: ”We just saw in some newspaper that she was doing drugs. I called her and said, you need to watch out … She was working a lot. She was exhausted. She hardly takes some time out. There was some pressure, first because it’s a lot of work.
”The doctor was telling her she needs to take some time out It’s just too much pressure what she’s going through. It’s just too much! She doesn’t have a single day’s break … It’s getting to the point with all this pressure … that it’s too much.
”Everyone was telling her, even her agent and the doctor, ‘Selena take some time to yourself!”’
He also added: ”The sad part is we hardly see her nowadays, just by phone …When we talk on the phone we say, ‘We don’t see you in person but we see you in the news, in the newspaper, the TV… Are you ok?’ She says, ‘Yeah.’”
Well, what can I say in this case, it is very easy to speak about the famous granddaughter to the cameras or in the interview, of course it helps feeling that you are in charge and millions of people are watching you! But that is not true at all! I feel very sorry for Selena, and for the fact that she has such a family! They do not care at all about her, and that is something pretty obvious to me! Because if my mom would only hear about me being even close to people who are abusing drugs, she would already kill me, not to mention her saying something like, I just call to ask if you are ok?! That’s bul***t!
Actually, the first thing that I thought about while reading this article, was laughing, because I just finished watching the “House” TV show, with Hugh Laurie, and in this awesome show, almost in each episode the first thing diagnose they were assuming was lupus. To my great disappointment, I haven’t seen even one case in it where the person would really have lupus, so it is kind of funny to imagine Selena Gomez having it, something tells me that she doesn’t have it either, and it is simply some mistake that doctors have made, same as it usually happens to all people in the world! So Selena, my advice would to be brave, and go to another doctor to check the diagnosis.
Most of all I am shocked and amazed by the family that does nothing in order to help Selena, going through this difficult time in her life! I mean what does it mean, when the family sees she is sick and they tell her on the phone there is no necessity for her to come visiting them?! I mean, if she really is on drugs, than eventually she is already not able to take proper care of herself, that is why she needs them to be strong and make decisions for her, while all they are capable to do is to sit and talk over the phone with her, I guess they with their negligence towards her have also helped her in turning to drugs and other abusing activities, I am ashamed for their behavior!
