Sigourney Weaver returning to ‘Avatar’ sequels

Despite the fact that her character died in the first movie, Sigourney Weaver will return for the three upcoming Avatar sequels.

In the first film she played scientist Grace Augustine, and in the sequels, Sigourney will portray a different character.

Director James Cameron said: “Sigourney and I have a long creative history, dating back to 1985 when we made Alien. We’re good friends who’ve always worked well together, so it just feels right that she’s coming back for the Avatar sequels.

“Her character of Grace Augustine, as fans know, died in the first movie, so she’s playing a different and in many ways more challenging character in the upcoming films. We’re both looking forward to this new creative challenge, the latest chapter in our long and continuing collaboration.”

Released in December 2009, Avatar is the top-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office, earning $2.8 billion. Three sequels will be filmed back-to-back, with the first slated to be released in December 2016, December 2017 and December 2018.

The movies will be produced by Cameron and Jon Landau via their Lightstorm Entertainment.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Stephen Lang will reprise their roles from the original film.

I can only imagine how lucky Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana feel for participating in the project that became the world’s greatest movie. As about me I believe that the most important merit about it, comes to James Cameron who has done a very good job, same as he did with the movie Titanic that became one of the best movies I have ever seen. I cannot say that I am a fan of Avatar, but I can surely say that this movie deserves being seen mostly due to the fact that it is different from all the other movies I have ever seen in my life, most of all I enjoyed the moment when they went to that place with a variety of falling flowers and she realized who he really is.

Well James Cameron as usually does a very great movie. The fact that he needs almost two years in order to film the second part of the movie tells me a lot, and most important thing that I realized is the fact that the second movie will surely be even better than the first part, what can be possibly better than that?! I think the entire world can’t wait to see this movie, and it is normal considering the fact that James Cameron never films any crap. And I am very glad that Sigourney Weiver will perform in this movie I love this actress since I saw her in the movie “The Heartbreakers” where she played with Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Awe wow, I am wondering why there will be three different sequels to the movie? Is it because the movie director gives three possible end of the story to the viewer to see, or maybe there is some other meaning behind that?! Hmm, I have no idea and I don’t like this feeling of not knowing something. I guess at least one of those options will have same end as the end of the last movie in “Twilight” saga, where everyone in the cinema thought that half of the main heroes have died in the battle, but then the movie director has done a very unexpected turn in the movie, so everyone realized that it was a sort of joke, at that moment I had a not certain emotions, because I was not sure what I want to do, whether to hug or kill the movie director for making my heart freaking out.
