Surprising celebrity hobbies

You’d think that famous people are so busy with their work and looking fabulous on the red carpet that they don’t have time for anything else. Well, that’s where you’re wrong. Even celebrities have hobbies and some of them are quite odd. Keep on reading for some of the strangest hobbies and the stars who enjoy them.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp revealed a few years back that he has an unusual pastime—playing with Barbie dolls. “I do like playing with Barbies. It’s a great thing to do with your kids,” he said. “Once, I was exploring different characters with the Barbies and my daughter didn’t like it. At one point she said, ‘Dad, please just stop, don’t do that, just do your regular voice’.” And if you think that’s weird, check this out: Johnny also collects pigeon skeletons.

Sandra Bullock

The Gravity star is known for her obsession with houses. Her hobby involves buying houses, tearing them down and redoing them to fit her expectations. If she were not an actress, she has confessed to having been interested in architecture.

Taylor Swift

Singer Taylor Swift shared a photograph of one of her favorite holiday hobbies with fans on Instagram. In addition to writing songs about her ex-boyfriends, Swift enjoys creating homemade Christmas snow globes.

Tom Hanks

Tom is a fan of typewriters. And he doesn’t collect computer keyboards, but vintage, manual typewriters. You know, the kind of devices your grandparents once used to write letters back in the day, before computers were around. Most of the typewriters Hanks has are still in working condition. Tom often takes one or two of them with him when he hits the road for work.

Mila Kunis

She is beautiful, smart and obsessed with video games. Mila Kunis really loves World of Warcraft. “It’s such a good game. I love it so much,” she gushed on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Liam Neeson

The Taken actor cannot resist a day of fly fishing. “In America there’s a program called ‘Fly Fishing the World’ and I’ve done about five of them,” Liam told Contact Music in an interview. “The last one I did was in New Zealand for about ten days and I brought my best friend. We had two cameras up our noses the entire time but they’re great fun.”

When she’s not acting, Katie loves to sew and she’s been teaching her daughter Suri the craft. “My husband got me a sewing machine for my birthday,” Holmes told People magazine prior to her split from Tom Cruise. “My mom grew up making curtains and pillows and everything, and it made our home very warm, so I like to do things like that with my daughter.”

Seth Meyers

The actor has admitted that his favorite hobby is reading and collecting comic books. “I’m a proud reader and purchaser of comic books,” he told People magazine. “I’m a long-time ‘X-Men’ fan. I’d love to say I buy them for aging value, but I mostly buy them to read.”

Will Smith, Tom Cruise and David Beckham

In an interview with Britain’s Daily Mirror, actor Will Smith revealed that he, Tom Cruise and David Beckham took up fencing a few years ago as a way to stay in shape. “We’ve got to watch our joints,” Smith said. “Especially my knee.”

Nicole Kidman

The Oscar winning actress hobby of playing Nintendo landed her a deal to work as their spokesperson. Her favorite game is More Brain Training From Dr. Kawashima, How Old Is Your Brain? Nicole also collects old coins.

David Arquette

Knitting isn’t just for ladies. David Arquette is a man who can knit. Arquette, who learned to knit from his grandmother, is such an avid knitter that he graced the cover of Celebrity Scarves 2: Hollywood Knits for Breast Cancer Research.

Amanda Seyfried

She is another famous knitter. Amanda Seyfried considers knitting her therapy. She finds time to knit when she’s on set, then takes it a step further and knits while working out on the elliptical machine. Seyfried doesn’t limit her craftiness to knitting needles – she also knows how to crochet!

Leslie Mann

The funny lady and wife of director Judd Apatow received a unicycle for Christmas when she was 10—and taught herself how to ride it. She’s yet to give up the hobby.  She made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and wowed audiences with her cycling skills, which include riding backwards and jumping off of curbs.

We all have hobbies, why would you think these hobbies were weird. Just because these people are celebrities??? I know many ladies, how are computer games geeks and why not Mila Kunis be one of them??? Knitting and sewing used to be the favorite hobbies by the nobility in a row of several centuries. Even if you can afford buying everything that is done beautifully, it is not the same ass adding to the home hearth with your own creativity. Besides, knitting tranquil many people and Amanda Seyfried is not an exception. Leo’s hobby can seem a little childish, but why not keeping the inner child alive?
