After more than 10 years of marriage, actors Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel have called it quits.
“Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time,” reps for the couple tells People magazine. “Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time.”
Menzel and Diggs, both 42, first met as co-stars in a Broadway production of the musical Rent in 1995. They got married on January 11th 2003 and had a son called Walker in 2009.
Reasons for the split haven’t been revealed yet, but the long-distance marriage aspect may have also put a strain on their relationship. Idina opened up about her marriage to People in April, admitting it wasn’t easy travelling back and forth from LA to New York for work.
“We work at it,” the actress said at the time. “I’m not going to glamorize it or glorify it – we go through tough times like everybody else, but we love each other very much. We try not to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and we try to find new ways to communicate.”
I have notice the strange tendency when people love each other, consider them a family, but split. What a heck is going on with the world. I wonder what the reasons of such spilt are. I do not think the son would be happy in a divorced family. Well, another family is always a dark story. I hope soon the cause will come up to light to satisfy my wild curiosity.)) Yes, I am non-improvable! LOL.
