Jason Segel collects puppets
Last December Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel announced they were separating after more than 10 years of marriage. The news came as a shock to the fans and for the first time since the announcement, Taye talks about the split in an interview with Redbook magazine.
He and Idina met in 1995, while starring on Broadway show Rent and the actor has admitted he was worried about their fans’ reaction to their break-up.
He said: “I’d be lying if I said there weren’t times when I thought, ‘Oh, man, people are going to trip out if we split.’
“Maybe they thought it was cute that we met in Rent. There weren’t a lot of couples like us in the theatre community – and I know there aren’t a lot of performers as talented as she is… and then you have the whole mixed race thing… It was easy for people to root for us.”
I think it is one of the most disgusting articles I have ever read, as in it I read about a man who is worried about the fact what fans will think about his marriage collapsing, but I read no word about the fact that he loves or loved his wife and doesn’t know how did it happen that they came to such a sad dead end in their relationship, I didn’t read that they tried doing something in order to save the marriage that they had, all I read was his worries that the rating he has around his fans might fall down, and the other not very pleasant thing was his worries that the public will go nuts about them, and not the fact that he is going nuts due to the situation.
This article makes me sick, and I have no idea after reading it what was such a gorgeous woman as Idina Menzel doing near this man Taye Diggs who doesn’t even deserve to say anything about her. Awe dear God, I don’t understand where it all is coming from, but for some reason I have the idea that there is some secret hidden room at the school where small boys are taught to be jerks who are using their women, and the love of their women towards them. I grew up on novels such as “Gone with the wind” where I got the idea that the man should be a real gentleman not only in the society but in the first place towards his own woman, that is why I find it so difficult to understand how come people stopped carrying about such important things as dignity and being with one woman once and per all lifetime.
I remember not a long time ago I saw a movie with Taye Diggs about some flight attendant girl, in whom he played the role of her ex-boyfriend, and I can say that in this movie he used that girl in order to have a better review in the newspapers and to look better in the eyes of public. By putting this movie which is quite new by the way, with the character of Taye that he has now, I can clearly understand that it was very easy for him to play that role, as he shouldn’t even play, he was just being himself and that is a very sad thing. I wish lots of luck to Idina Menzel and do hope that soon she will be able to find the man who will became a real husband to her, and with who she would feel like behind the great Chinese Wall!
